The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday. The Hop is a fantastic way to get your blog noticed, and visit some other blogs that you didn't know about before. Head over and sign up and see what you can find!
Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!
"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series,
do you always start with the first title?"
Oh, heck YES! I don't care if I read reviews and people say that the story is okay as a stand alone. If it is part of a series, I start with book number one. When people check out (or ask about) books from the library that are a part of a series, I always ask if they have read the previous books. Always! Most of the times they are on track, but sometimes kids don't care and they start wherever. Eeeeek. I'm getting all sweaty thinking someone is out there reading a book out of order right now! Zomg!
Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:
"What is your usual monthly book budget?"
Uh, I don't have a budget. Austin, TX (where I live) has a great literary community. We have great author events and signings, as well as terrific book festivals. One month I won't go to an event, and the next month there are three I want to attend. I can't budget for that! On the other hand, I believe in the public library! I check out books almost weekly (audio too) - books that I'm not too sure if I will like and books I know my daughters won't read. If there is a book that I know I will love, I will buy it. If an author has a new book out and I own all the others, I will buy it. Sometimes, if I know an author will be coming through town, I will buy it at the signing joint and save that receipt or singing day. I know the drill!
***What do you guys think? Am I nuts? Leave me your answer and I will find you!
