"What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere
did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?"
Oh, a question that people might not like to answer! I have no problem saying that Halo by Alexandra Adornetto was a highly publicized book and a huge disappointment for me. Huge as in epic. I was wooed by that gorgeous cover. It is still beautiful and it actually fits the book quite well, but that is literally about the only thing I liked about it. I wanted to throw this book across the room more than once. I was literally upset when I finished. I was mad because Bethany was so pathetic. I was mad because Gabriel (an angel mind you) just suddenly thought it was a-okay for a human to be involved in all this 'save the town business'. In a nut shell - I didn't believe this story at all AND I worry that teenage girls will fall into the "I would die without this boy in my life" fantasy. Okay...breathe.
Second part of the question is a no brainer. I have no qualms or apprehension about writing and posting a negative review. If I went to a restaurant where the food was terrible, I would tell everyone not to waste their money. I bought the book and feel like I can be honest on this blog - it is mine after all. Hopefully, readers appreciate my honesty and the fact that I stick to the book - no author bashing from me! If people enjoy books I don't like, that's okay too. There is something out there for everyone. I just want people, including teens, to read. Read the back of a cereal box if you got it!
I would love to hear your answer...even if you totally disagree!
"What do you do besides reading / reviewing as a hobby?"
It seems like all I do is cart my two teenagers around town to all of their activities. Their social calendar is off the chain! Volleyball, softball, soccer, friends, blah, blah, blah. I would literally hire a driver if I could afford one. For fun...I love to photograph my girls. We play America's Next Top Model all the time. I got a big fancy camera a few years ago and it has been a blessing. Oh, and I love to throw a party. TEXAS Book Blogger Party is tomorrow night...come join us!
Happy Reading!
