The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
September 29th, 2011 by Hyperion Books for Children
A modern-day thriller about Rory, an American high-school student who enrolls at a London boarding school for her junior year. Soon after her arrival, a series of murders begins to take place across the city—on the exact dates and in the exact style of Jack the Ripper. Rory’s ties to the killer bring her in contact with a secret paranormal branch of the British police, as they attempt to stop the mysterious killer.
Modern day thrill with a dude dressed like it's 1895? The creeper in the back gives it a ghostly feel. I don't know if there is a ghost. This art also adds to the YA trend of "the girl with the red hair on the cover." People are all over the gingers lately. I'll have to stay tuned...

"SHUT OUT is a story about Lissa, a senior in high school, who decides to put an end to a decade old rivalry between her school's football and soccer teams after her quarterback boyfriend ditches her a few too many times on behalf of hazing the other team. Her plan is to start a sex strike - gathering the girlfriends of all the players of both teams and agreeing that none of them will hookup with their boyfriends until the rivalry is over. What follows is an all out battle of the sexes as the girls begin to explore issues of teen sexuality and the boys attempt to seducethe girls into breaking their oath. Lissa is determined to win, but she never expects the sexual tension that rises between she and Cash Sterling, a member of the soccer team and leader of the boys' side."

Luststruck got a new title....and a new look! I think the cover art conveys the concept of the story perfectly. Here is what Kody has to say:
